New Beginnings

Hi, there!

You may not know it, but this website has been a dream of mine for quite some time now.

Since I was a tiny human, I have loved stories. You may have gleaned that from my home page. Naturally, what does a storyteller wish to be, then? A writer, of course.

It’s been an absolute delight to work as a writer and editor, helping craft messages that matter through journalism, copywriting, editing, and more. However, I’ve found it challenging to look inward and cultivate a writing space not bound by deadlines or obligations to one’s career.

I knew that I needed my own little digital plot of land, tilling my pixelated soil and planting something new.

What to plant, though, was the challenge. Writer’s block sets in, as does impostor syndrome, and all of these notions that try to convince you that you’re in over your head.

So, like the stubborn Latina that I am, I took a swig of sangria and decided to sit down and write… And came across a blank page.

The little flashing line on my text editor taunted me. What do I talk about? Do people even care? The old lies swirl about.

However, why put myself in a box? Yeah, I’m a writer, and an editor, and a craft goblin whose toxic trait is thinking I can collect hobbies like Neopets trading cards.

So here I am, flexing my writing muscle, doing something for me (and you, by extension!)

I’m still not sure how this site will continue to evolve, but that’s part of the fun. Maybe it’ll be a total blog or a candid portfolio website. Maybe it’s both, or neither. But you know what? I’ve decided that I don’t need to have all of that figured out just yet. All I know is that I want this to be a space that hopefully encourages you to go out and do what sets your heart on fire.
